Changpeng Zhao Shares His Views on the Future of Crypto: What Does He Say?

New Policies in the US and Trump’s Support

CZ highlighted a significant policy shift in the United States under President Donald Trump’s administration that began supporting digital assets in July 2024. This is a drastic change compared to the more confrontational approach of previous administrations.

According to CZ, previous policies made the crypto industry feel like it was “in prison”. New legislation including the law on stablecoins and the Genius Act, which has already been enacted, earned CZ praise.

He emphasized that the Trump administration sees crypto innovation as something to be adopted rather than abandoned, given its disruptive potential yet essential to remain competitive on the global scene.

Integrating Crypto with Artificial Intelligence

CZ predicts that crypto will be the natural transaction medium for AI, replacing traditional fiat currencies like the US dollar or Japanese yen. According to him, AI will not rely on banks or credit cards because those systems are designed for humans, not for AI.

Blockchain, with its programmable APIs, offers a more suitable solution for AI. CZ envisions a scenario where everyone would have hundreds or even thousands of AI agents, each of whom conduct economic transactions that could increase economic activity by a hundred or a thousand times. These transactions would mostly be microtransactions taking place on the blockchain network.

Entrepreneurship Education and Guidance

After stepping down from Binance, CZ is now focusing on education through his Giggle Academy project, which has served around 50,000 children. He estimates that the full digitization of education over 18 years will only cost around $300 million, a much smaller amount compared to the US government’s $110 billion annual education budget.

In addition, CZ has actively advised at least 12 governments and world leaders on regulation, stablecoins, CBDCs, and crypto adoption more broadly. He praised the UAE’s leadership for being open to innovation, and emphasized that small countries with strong governance often advance faster.
