The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Travel Rule is a global regulation issued in 1996. It requires all financial institutions to share additional information when asset transfers occur between more than one institution, to prevent global money laundering.
In 2019, FATF recommended this rule also apply to sending/receiving digital assets.
For your transaction’s safety, you’ll be asked to include the recipient’s full name and residential address when sending crypto outside Pintu.
We recommend saving that information in your Address Book, so you don’t need to re-enter the name and address each time you send to the same wallet address.
Pintu’s Travel Rule implementation also complies with OJK regulations, which require including the wallet address, full name, and residential address of the recipient when sending crypto assets.
