Gambar Canary Capital CEO Predicts Ripple (XRP) ETF Will Outperform Ethereum (ETH) ETF – Here’s Why

Jakarta, Pintu News – Canary Capital CEO, Steven McClurg, predicts that the XRP ETF could potentially outperform the Ethereum ETF when it starts trading in the market.

This statement comes after the SEC officially confirmed the end of the lawsuit against XRP, which gave relief to many investors.

Canary Capital CEO predicts XRP ETFs will surpass ETH ETFs

Canary Capital’s CEO, Steven McClurg, in an interview with Paul Barron, expressed confidence that XRP ETF products will outperform ETH ETFs. He cited three main factors supporting this: yield structure, market position, and community strength.

According to McClurg, the staking feature of Ethereum is actually an obstacle to the success of ETH ETFs. Experienced crypto investors can earn returns of around 2-3% just by holding ETH directly.

In contrast, XRP does not currently offer a staking yield, so ETF investors do not feel like they are missing out on income opportunities when choosing that fund structure.

He also emphasized that XRP dominates its category as a blockchain designed specifically for financial services infrastructure, especially in cross-border payments, remittances, and institutional transaction settlement.

“When there is a clear leader in a category, it’s usually the one that wins,” he said, comparing XRP’s role in payments to Bitcoin’s role as a store of value.

Massive XRP Enthusiasm and Community

In addition, McClurg highlighted the size of the XRP community and their enthusiasm. He predicts that strong interest from both retail and institutional investors could drive large inflows of funds into XRP ETFs.

In fact, he estimated that the newly launched XRP ETF could attract up to $5 billion in the first month, surpassing the initial performance of the ETH ETF. This statement comes amid speculation of an XRP ETF filing by BlackRock.

McClurg, whose company has applied for an XRP ETF, is optimistic that the product will come soon and believes the launch will happen before the end of this year.

In terms of technical aspects, he explained that XRP ETFs need a reliable reference price mechanism to track the underlying asset.

While some ETFs use CME benchmarks, Canary Capital plans to use indices from other platforms that are considered to have a broader coverage of the crypto market.

SEC Officially Ends XRP Lawsuit

After years of legal proceedings, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially filed to withdraw its appeal against Ripple. This move marks the end of one of the most high-profile lawsuits in the crypto world.

SEC Commissioner, Hester Peirce, confirmed this development through a post on the X platform.

“Last week, the SEC’s case against Ripple officially ended. This is good news as the focus can now shift from legal matters towards establishing a clear regulatory framework for the crypto industry,” he wrote.

Previously, there were still many people who doubted that the XRP lawsuit was really over. Australian lawyer Bill Morgan responded to these doubts and confirmed to the public that the case was indeed over.

With dual confirmation from a sitting SEC commissioner and a legal expert, there is little doubt that the lawsuit is officially closed. This paves the way for Ripple and XRP to move forward unhindered by regulatory litigation.
