
Jakarta, Pintu News – David Schwartz, who has long served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Ripple, has announced his planned retirement. In an emotional message, Schwartz promised to remain active in the Ripple community.
David Schwartz revealed through a post on X that he will be reducing his involvement in day-to-day duties as Ripple’s CTO later this year. Nonetheless, he emphasized his commitment to continue participating in the Ripple (XRP) community.
Schwartz expressed his gratitude to Ripple’s executive team, including Brad Garlinghouse, Monica Long, and Chris Larsen, as well as to Arthur Britto, with whom he developed the Ripple (XRP) Ledger.
Schwartz also expressed his appreciation to the RippleX team, ledger developers, and community members. He stated that working at Ripple is one of the best honors and experiences of his life, second only to his family.

During his tenure, Schwartz has made significant contributions to the development of the Ripple (XRP) Ledger, including starting his own node, publishing output data, and researching other uses of Ripple (XRP) besides Ripple’s primary focus. He emphasizes his joy in working, talking to developers, and coding for the love of technology.
Schwartz also showed his confidence in the next generation of leaders and builders on the Ripple (XRP) Ledger. He plans to continue to be involved in Ripple as “CTO Emeritus” and has accepted a request from Chris Larsen to join the company’s board of directors.

Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, called Schwartz a “true OG in crypto” who had the vision to see what others could not. Garlinghouse recognized Schwartz as a legend and thanked him for everything he has done for the industry, Ripple, and the Ripple (XRP) Ledger.
Monica Long, President of Ripple, stated that this strong community would not exist without Schwartz or inventions like Proof of Association, DEX, and smart escrow.
