Account Verification (KYC) Guide for Foreign Nationals (WNA) & KITAS Rules

Foreign nationals (WNA) can open an account at Pintu. This guide explains the document requirements, what KITAS/KITAP are, and your options if you don’t have them yet.

1. Can Foreign Nationals Register at Pintu?

Yes, foreign nationals can open a Pintu account. To register or verify your account, you must use:

  • A passport
  • A KITAS or KITAP
  • An Indonesian bank account

These documents are submitted via email to help@pintu.co.id. No other proof of identity can be used.

Please note, Pintu only processes Rupiah withdrawals to banks in Indonesia.

Important notes:

  • Pintu only accepts users who are not U.S. citizens, were not born in the U.S., and do not hold a U.S. green card.
  • Users must also not transact through accounts or financial institutions in the U.S., have no U.S. tax obligations, and not represent any party with U.S. citizenship.

2. What Are KITAS and KITAP?

  • KITAS (Limited Stay Permit Card) is for foreign nationals who want to stay in Indonesia for a limited period.
  • KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit Card) is for foreign nationals who want to stay and settle in Indonesia as residents.

3. What If You Don’t Have a KITAS/KITAP?

If you don’t have a KITAS/KITAP, you can still complete KYC. Attach an ID card from your home country along with your passport to verify your account at Pintu.
