Pi Network Price Drops 5% — Is the Upcoming Token Unlock About to Crash Pi Coin to $0.65?

On May 27, 2025, the price of Pi Network (PI) was recorded at $0.7474, a decrease of 5.4% in the last 24 hours. If converted to the current rupiah ($1 = IDR 16,243), then 1 Pi Network is IDR 12,140.

In the last 24 hours, the price of PI moved within a range of $0.744 to $0.7899, indicating significant selling pressure in the market.

This price drop comes amidst a high daily trading volume of $131,179,550, signaling market activity that remains active despite the downward price trend.

Pi Network’s current market capitalization stands at $5.43 billion, while its fully diluted valuation stands at $8.36 billion.

The Rise and Fall of Pi Network Pricing

When it was first listed on exchanges, Pi Coin opened at $3, but immediately dropped to $0.60 on the same day. Although it recovered back to $3 within 34 days, this rise triggered huge selling pressure as early investors chose to take profits.

Many consider the $3 price to be an ideal exit point, especially after the value of the coin had already dropped by more than 80%.

In terms of technical analysis, Pi Coin currently faces the closest resistance levels at $0.94, $1.20, and $1.66. If the price manages to break through these levels, the next short-term upside target is at $3.00.

However, if the price declines and breaks the important support at $0.65, then further declines are possible.

Pi Network Token Unlock Could Add Selling Pressure

Adding to the already existing concerns, the next few days will see the release (unlock) of a large number of Pi tokens, potentially adding to the selling pressure in the market:

• May 26: 10 million Pi tokens to be released
• May 27th: 12 million Pi tokens to be released
• May 28th: 15 million Pi tokens to be released – being the largest in the next 30 days

This large release could further depress the price of Pi, as newly available tokens are likely to be immediately sold into the market by their owners.

Positive Developments in the Pi Network Ecosystem

Although the price of Pi Coin is still fluctuating, the Pi Network ecosystem is showing rapid growth. According to analyst Kim Wong, there are currently more than 100 Pi-based decentralized applications (DApps).

Some of them are already running on the Mainnet, some are still in the testing phase, and the rest are being developed.

Adding to the optimism, the recent launch of a $100 million Venture Fund is expected to further accelerate the growth of the Pi ecosystem.

As more apps are launched and global adoption increases, Pi’s long-term outlook continues to show positive signs.
