MANTRA Launches $25 Million OM Token Buyback, Total Commitments Reach $45 Million

Jakarta, Pintu News – MANTRA recently announced the launch of a $25 million OM token buyback, which is part of the first major commitment implemented by MANTRA AG, a subsidiary of the MANTRA Chain Association.

Buyback Implementation and Impact on Supply

Starting August 27, MANTRA will begin deploying $25 million in funds through multiple centralized exchanges. Independent trading firms will manage recurring purchases at or near market prices.

Any tokens bought back will be moved to MANTRA’s main network and tethered with their set of validators.

At current market prices, the program is estimated to involve around 110 million OM tokens, which is almost 10% of the OM supply in circulation. This reduction could tighten the available liquidity, which might increase price momentum over time.

MANTRA is also in the process of moving OM from the ERC-20 Ethereum (ETH) standard to their native chain. So far, 30% of the ERC-20 supply has been successfully transitioned.

John Patrick Mullin, CEO and Founder of MANTRA, has warned that January 15, 2026 will be the “doomsday” for ERC-20 OM, encouraging token holders to migrate without delay.

The move is expected to increase liquidity on the MANTRA chain, which will probably improve trading spreads and attract more institutional investors. The entire RWA market supports this move, with a surge to $26.5 billion this year, a 70% increase.
