PancakeSwap Adds Cross-Chain Swap Support for Solana as Rivalry with Aster Heats Up

Jakarta, Pintu News – PancakeSwap (CAKE) now supports Solana in its Crosschain Swap feature, allowing users to swap tokens across multiple blockchains. This update comes amidst increased competition, as Aster DEX has launched to offer similar capabilities.

PancakeSwap Extends Cross-Chain Swap to Solana

In a blog post, the leading decentralized exchange (DEX) announced that their Crosschain Swap feature now supports Solana (SOL). With this update, users can swap tokens on seven different blockchains directly in a single transaction on the PancakeSwap platform.

Currently, PancakeSwap supports token swaps across seven major networks: Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Arbitrum (ARB), Base, ZKsync (ZK), and Linea. Since cross-chain swaps are available directly through the PancakeSwap interface, users no longer need to switch between different applications or bridges.

The DEX explained that the Crosschain Swap feature in Solana is powered by Relay, a multichain payment network that facilitates inter-blockchain transfers. This development comes amid increasing inter-DEX competition, including the recent launch of Aster DEX.

Recently, Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, co-founder of Binance, gave his support to Aster. He emphasized that Aster is not an exclusive perpetual DEX for BNB Chain, but rather natively supports multiple chains, including Solana. CZ also added that Aster is “different from other perp DEX designs.”

DEX Volume Increases Sharply

Data from DeFiLlama shows that trading volumes on DEX are heating up, reaching a peak of $16 billion on September 22. From the same data, PancakeSwap leads in 24-hour trading volume with a total of $3.419 billion.

In the next position, Uniswap (UNI), Meteora, Fluid, and Raydium (RAY) rounded out the top five with trading volumes of $2.6 billion, $1.2 billion, $1 billion, and $767.97 million, respectively. Meanwhile, Aster and Hyperliquid (HYPE) ranked 8th and 9th, recording trading volumes of $533 million and $514 million.

When it comes to 7-day trading volume, Uniswap came out on top with $23 billion, followed by PancakeSwap with $20 billion. The other two big DEXs, Hyperliquid and Aster, posted volumes of $4.81 billion and $2.4 billion respectively.

Amidst the intense competition between DEXes, it is worth noting that Aster has just launched 300x leveraged trading for HYPE token, Hyperliquid’s native token. HYPE is one of the few tokens offered with such high leverage on the platform.
