Jakarta, Pintu News – This week, the BNB Chain community was shocked by news of a hack on their official X account. Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, co-founder of Binance, along with the BNB Chain team, immediately issued a security alert.
They informed that the account had been used to spread phishing links that could potentially jeopardize users’ funds. This hack sparked serious concerns among users and forced the security team to act quickly.
The first confirmation of this incident came via the Chinese version of X BNB Chain’s account, which reminded followers not to click on any links from their English accounts.
“The official English Twitter account @BNBCHAIN has been compromised. We are working to fix this issue,” reads a statement from the team. Shortly after, CZ also announced on X that the account may have been hacked, asking users to avoid clicking on links posted recently.
Binance’s security team moved quickly to contact X to suspend the compromised accounts while working to restore access. CZ added that takedown requests have been submitted for all identified phishing sites.
“Always check the domain very carefully, even from the official X handle,” advises CZ. This shows the team’s quick and serious response to a security emergency.

Phishing campaigns, like the one that happened to the BNB Chain account, are one of the tactics often used by hackers to drain crypto wallets. They usually disguise themselves as reward programs or exclusive offers to lure users into clicking on malicious links or signing fake transactions.
In this case, the message posted by the hacked account invited users to choose the date of the upcoming $BSC award, with the promise of an early reward for those who participated in the first 24 hours. CZ strongly warns against connecting crypto wallets to suspicious sites.
“The @BNBCHAIN account on X has been compromised,” he wrote. “Hackers have posted a number of links to phishing websites requesting Wallet Connect. Do not connect your wallet.” This message emphasizes the importance of caution in managing access to personal financial information.

To date, BNB Chain has not shared details on how the hack occurred. Binance has also not provided an official response for comment. The team is still continuing the investigation and trying to take over full control of the compromised accounts. This shows that the situation is still evolving and requires close monitoring.
Users are urged not to click or respond to the latest posts from the BNB Chain account. Instead, users should only follow official updates shared through Binance verified channels until the team has managed to take full control of the account. These steps are important to keep digital assets safe in the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
This incident is a reminder of the importance of cybersecurity in the dynamic crypto world. Users should always be vigilant and follow security best practices to protect their assets from increasingly sophisticated hacking tactics. The BNB Chain and Binance teams continue to work hard to ensure user safety and restore the trust that has been compromised.
