Fidelity Expands into Solana as Analysts Eye Potential $500 Price Break for SOL

Jakarta, Pintu News – Fidelity Digital Assets has launched Solana (SOL) digital asset trading and storage services across their platforms, including for retail, institutions, and wealth management. The move marks one of the largest integrations of a non-Ethereum blockchain by a traditional financial company.

In addition, it also expands investors’ access to decentralized assets beyond Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). This launch comes as Solana’s performance has rebounded.

After being underestimated due to the FTX collapse, SOL has rebounded quickly and now has a market capitalization that exceeds $100 billion.

Solana Now Available across Fidelity Platforms

Fidelity confirmed on Thursday that Solana trading has been made available on Fidelity Crypto for retail users, retirement accounts (IRAs), wealth management clients, as well as their institutional trading platform. The platform offers commission-free transactions, but applies a spread of up to 1% per transaction.

For new customers who want to access the crypto features, they will need to open a Fidelity Brokerage account, although this service is still limited to a few US states.

The expansion is in line with Fidelity’s long-term strategy in blockchain technology. The company has started Bitcoin mining since 2014, established Fidelity Digital Assets in 2018, and became one of the first issuers of Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs in 2024.

This latest update expands Fidelity’s crypto asset offering, which already includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin (LTC).

At the time of writing, Solana’s price stands at $192.99, up almost 4% in the last 24 hours. Its trading volume surpassed $7 billion, reflecting growing demand from both retail and institutional users.

Analysts predict Solana could reach $500

Meanwhile, analysts remain optimistic about Solana’s price prospects. They agree that high demand, favorable technical patterns, and improving fundamentals could sustain the price rally – especially if the $200 resistance level is broken.

In the event of a confirmed breakout, Solana’s price is expected to rise towards the $320-$340 range, and in the long term could even reach $500.

Analyst Daan Crypto Trades noted that Solana’s price is currently consolidating between $175 to $200, showing the pressure that usually occurs before a strong move. According to him, a price close above $195 could trigger a quick spike towards $250.

A similar opinion was shared by AltcoinGordon, who pointed out the presence of an ascending triangle pattern on Solana’s weekly chart – a pattern that often precedes big rises. He predicts that if the current momentum continues, SOL prices could shoot up to the $320-$500 range.

Beyond technical analysis, fundamental factors have also improved. With $16 trillion in assets under management, Fidelity has the potential to bring new liquidity to the Solana network. Solana’s advantages in transaction speed, low fees, and support for tokenized assets make it an efficient platform for real-world asset trading (RWA) and DeFi expansion.

Adding to the positive push, cross-chain versions of Tether USDt and Tether Gold (XAUT) were also recently launched on the Solana network. The presence of these stablecoins and gold assets in tokenized form deepens on-chain liquidity and improves value transfer efficiency.

Analysts believe that such integration of RWA assets could attract institutional interest, reduce volatility, and strengthen Solana’s long-term growth foundation.
