Canary Capital Proposes Injective ETF with Staking, Will INJ Price Recover?

Jakarta, Pintu News – In the latest move, asset manager Canary Capital has filed paperwork with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a market-staking Injective ETF. As such, investors will get regular exposure to the INJ cryptocurrency along with the option to earn staking returns.

Canary Capital files S-1 with US SEC for Injective ETFs

According to the latest regulatory filing, asset manager Canary has filed an S-1 registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its proposed staked Injective (INJ) ETF. If approved, the Canary Staked Injective ETF will be listed on the Cboe and give investors exposure to the spot price of the INJ cryptocurrency.

The ETF will also provide an opportunity for investors to earn additional returns through staking rewards. This ETF joins several other crypto ETFs currently awaiting US SEC approval for 2026.

This fund structure allows sponsors to stake all INJ tokens held by the trust through one or more staking providers. However, they have not announced any specific staking partners to date.

This filing details the key operational details of the product. U.S. Bancorp Fund Services has been appointed as the transfer agent and cash custodian.

At the same time, BitGo Trust Company will act as the custodian of digital assets. This ETF will track the performance of Injective based on the INJ-USD CCIXber Reference Rate price index. Under the proposed structure, ETF shares will be created and redeemed in blocks of 10,000 shares.

Canary also revealed that Parallel Distributors LLC will act as the marketing agent for this product.

Overall Injective Ecosystem Growth

The Injective ecosystem has experienced significant growth in recent years. Transaction activity across the Injective ecosystem has increased sharply in the last three years.

In 2023, the number of weekly transactions was mostly limited to the 0-1,000 range. However, the number has increased dramatically and is now approaching 1 million transactions per week.

This data highlights the increasingly widespread use of the Injective ecosystem, which goes beyond just basic token transfers.

Transaction activities include decentralized exchange, minting, staking, derivatives, swapping, NFT interaction, and other on-chain operations. The protocol also supports important developments in the tokenization of real-world assets.

Injective Korea’s leader, Andrew (@AndKrypto), spoke on December 18 at the Hashed Open Research Forum, where he explained how PAPL Pineapple’s $10 billion mortgage portfolio was brought onto the blockchain through Injective.

He also discussed Injective’s role in accelerating the adoption of real-world assets (RWAs). This includes the exploration of new use cases such as pre-IPO stock trading on the blockchain.

Despite these developments, INJ continues to face selling pressure, with its token price correcting nearly 30% in the past month.

Will INJ Price Recover from Here?

At the time of writing, INJ price is trading down 5.6% at $4.58. On the daily chart, the asset is trading below its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages, reflecting continued short-term weakness.

At the same time, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) has fallen to 30.67. This indicates oversold conditions and hints at a potential technical rebound in the near future.

Traders may consider entering around the $4.50 level, with an upside target of around $5.50 if the price manages to reclaim key resistance. However, for a sustained recovery, trading volumes need to increase.
