Canary Capital Unveils Significant Updates to Its SUI ETF

Jakarta, Pintu News – Canary Capital made major changes to its SUI ETF application filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The issuer also revealed its fees, ticker symbol, as well as other additional details, signaling a step closer towards the potential launch of the first spot ETF in the US that tracks the price of Sui (SUI).

Canary Capital Files Amendment to SUI ETF with US SEC

Canary Capital has filed a second pre-effective amendment to its S-1 form regarding its SUI ETF, according to the latest documents filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). If approved, the fund will give investors exposure to SUI prices while generating returns through a staking mechanism.

In the latest filing, the issuer renamed the fund as Staked SUI ETF to highlight its focus on acquiring additional SUI through participation in the staking program. However, no staking fees have been announced so far.

Canary Capital also changed the listing exchange from Cboe BZX Exchange to Nasdaq Stock Market, signaling plans to list and trade the ETF on Nasdaq.

The ETF, now called Canary Staked SUI ETF, discloses a management fee of 0.75% and sets “SUIS” as its ticker symbol. However, the issuer has not announced anyfee waiver.

Meanwhile, Mysten Labs, the lead developer behind the Sui blockchain, will serve as the initial capital investor. Mysten Labs plans to purchase 200,000 shares in the form of SUI tokens at $25 per share, as well as act as astatutory underwriter.

Other Details of Canary Staked SUI ETF

The trust has signed agreements with major firms such as Jane Street Capital, Virtu Americas, Macquarie Capital and Cantor Fitzgerald to act as SUI’s trading counterparties. Canary Staked SUI ETF will buy and sell SUI through these firms.

This exchange-traded fund (ETF) will track SUI’s price performance and itsnet asset value( NAV) according to the ISUI-USD CCIXber Reference Rate index.

U.S. Bancorp Fund Services will serve as the administrator, transfer agent, and cash custodian for the trust. BitGo Trust Company has been selected as the crypto asset custodian. Although a staking provider has not been named, the sponsor plans to stake the SUI token through one or more staking service providers.

“Shares can only be transferred through DTC’s electronic listing system. Shareholders who are not DTC participants may transfer their shares through DTC by giving instructions to the DTC participant holding their shares to make the transfer. The transfer process is conducted in accordance with the standard practices of the securities industry,” the document states.

The issuer will sell or redeem the Canary Staked SUI ETF in blocks of 10,000 shares. Other details disclosed in the filing include the appointment of Parallel Distributors LLC as marketing agent.

SUI Prices Remain Strong

The price of SUI rose by more than 1% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading around $1.45. In the same period, the lowest price was recorded at $1.42 and the highest at $1.47.

Trading volume increased by about 73% over the past 24 hours, signaling great interest from traders following the filing of the Sui ETF by Bitwise.

However, data from CoinGlass shows that there is selling pressure in the derivatives market. Total open interest for Sui futures contracts fell by more than 1% in the last 4 hours, while 24-hour open interest recorded a decline of almost 0.50%.
