Jakarta, Pintu News – On Monday, known as ‘Black Monday’, the total value locked (TVL) in the Dogecoin (DOGE)-based DeFi protocol reached its lowest point in 2023.

Data from DeFi’s analytics platform, DeFiLlama, shows a significant drop reflecting a major shift in investor sentiment and decreased liquidity in Dogecoin’s decentralized finance ecosystem.

Drastic Drop in Dogecoin TVL

Dogecoin’s recorded TVL of just $2.72 million signaled a sharp decline and sparked concern among investors. This drop not only reflects broader market anxiety but also highlights Dogecoin’s vulnerability in the face of market pressure.

The SoSo Value Index, which focuses on Dogecoin, saw a 26.37% decline in the month, followed by BoringDAO and Thorchain, which declined 24.04% and 20.16%, respectively.

The decline in Dogecoin’s price is also seen in line with the decline in TVL. In the past month, Dogecoin’s price fell by 23.78%, reaching around $0.15. According to data from CoinMarketCap, this makes it one of the biggest losers of the day.

Market Correction Hits Hard

In addition to Dogecoin, other memecoins such as Shiba Inu (SHIB) have also experienced a decline, with a price drop of 10.09% in the last 24 hours. However, Pepe Coin (PEPE) bucked the trend with a price increase of 3.49% in the same period.

This phenomenon shows that not all cryptocurrencies share the same fate in volatile market conditions. Data from Coinglass shows a 68.62% spike in Dogecoin liquidation in the last 24 hours, indicating that while many investors are exiting, others are entering or adjusting their positions with high volatility in mind.
