Michael Saylor Predicts Bitcoin Will Outpace Gold Tenfold — Here’s His Outlook

His statement comes amid a trend of companies around the world increasing their BTC holdings, despite the gold price currently being at a record high.

Michael Saylor Projects Bitcoin to Beat Gold

In a recent interview with CNBC, MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor predicted that Bitcoin will be worth 10 times as much as gold in the next few years. He calls this crypto asset “new territory” for national reserves and corporate cash.

When it comes to Bitcoin’s strategic reserve bill in the US, Saylor argues that the asset can strengthen a company’s balance sheet in a way that traditional cash or share buybacks cannot.

“Bitcoin is money, while everything else is just credit,” he said, adapting an old expression that has been associated with gold.

While gold continues to set new records, Saylor asserts that Bitcoin is superior because it is programmable, borderless, and immune to tariffs. “You can’t move gold instantly,” he explains, contrasting the physical limitations of the precious metal with the digital nature of BTC.

This is not the first time Saylor has compared the two assets. Last month, he predicted that more capital would shift from gold to BTC as import tariffs weigh on the precious metal. According to him, crypto is not tied to physical logistics and is not susceptible to policy risks.

Robert Kiyosaki Gives Advice for Investors

Similar views have also come from other figures. Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki advises investors to store Bitcoin alongside gold and silver to protect themselves from potential financial instability.

Saylor also emphasizes that Bitcoin is now evolving beyond hedging, serving as digital capital in credit markets. Some companies have even issued financial instruments backed by their BTC reserves – a practice he compares to the centuries-long dominance of gold-based bonds.

“The world once relied on gold-based credit for 300 years,” he said. “Going forward, the world will run on digital gold-based credit for another 300 years.”

Corporate Cash Drives BTC Demand

Michael Saylor’s optimism comes as Bitcoin accumulation by various companies accelerates. His own company, MicroStrategy, recently purchased 850 BTC for $99.7 million. With this purchase, the company’s holdings total nearly 640,000 coins, maintaining its position as the largest corporate holder.

Interestingly, Bullish lost its position as the fifth largest corporate holder after Japan’s Metaplanet increased its reserves by $632 million. The company’s total holdings are now close to $3 billion.

Something similar is also happening in Brazil, where OranjeBTC yesterday bought 3,650 BTC worth $385 million ahead of a public listing, making it the largest corporate cash in Latin America.

Overall, more than 190 public companies now include Bitcoin on their balance sheets, with total institutional holdings surpassing 1.5 million BTC. Analysts see this trend adding consistent pressure on supply.

In addition, ETFs from giants such as BlackRock also continue to accumulate coins on behalf of institutional investors.
