How Does this Change Affect My Existing Positions?

The increase to 25x leverage gives traders better capital efficiency by reducing initial margin requirement from 20% to 4%, and maintenance margin requirements from 5% to 1%.

Pintu Pro Futures uses cross-margin, meaning that when margin usage reaches 100%, the trader&rsquo;s entire funds will be liquidated, resulting in their total balance in Pintu Pro Futures becoming 0.

What is liquidation in futures trading?

Margin usage (MU) refers to the amount of funds or collateral used by a trader to maintain a leveraged position.

Why are the wallets between Pro Spot and Pro Futures separated?

Margin is the amount of funds an investor must deposit with an exchange to open a position for perpetual trading. This amount serves as collateral for the exchange against potential investor losses. 



Open order margin is the amount held for open orders that have not yet been executed. In other words, if you place a limit, a portion of your margin will be allocated to that order until it is filled or canceled. For example, to place a $1,000 order on a 20% initial margin (5x leverage), the margin requirement is $200. 



Maintenance margin is the amount of margin balance required in your account wallet to keep positions open. You will be liquidated if your margin balance falls below the maintenance margin. For example, to maintain a position of $1,000 with a 5% maintenance margin requirement, the margin that will be locked is $50. 



Available margin is the portion of your margin balance that is not used for maintenance or open order margins. Available margin can be used to open new positions.

What are Margin, Open Order Margin, Maintenance Margin, and Available Margin?

A contract is a legal agreement to buy or sell a specific commodity asset at a predetermined price at a specified time. This contract is known as a futures contract. Contracts that are not tied to a particular time are known as perpetual contracts.

No. Pintu Pro Futures only supports cross margin future trading.

Is there an Isolated or Cross option in Pro Futures?

Pintu Pro Futures currently does not offer the option to adjust the level of leverage. However, you can always increase your total margin balance to lower the effective leverage and the overall liquidation risk of your account.

How do I increase or decrease leverage at Pintu Pro Futures?

Margin usage will be considered &lsquo;danger&rsquo; when it surpasses 75%. This means your position is at risk of liquidation. Liquidation will occur when margin usage reaches 100%.

When margin usage enters the danger zone, you can lower it by adding more margin or closing open orders.

What does the Usage Margin in the Danger Stage Mean?

When margin usage reaches 100%, the exchange will do a pre-check before liquidating your account. If you have open orders, the exchange will cancel all your open orders to lower your margin usage level. However, if you do not have any open orders, the exchange will liquidate your futures account by taking over all open positions as well as all the remaining margin balance.

What happens when the Margin Usage (MU) indicator reaches 100%?

Because you do not have sufficient available margin. To open new positions and orders, please add your margin via <a href="https://pintu.co.id/en/faq/how-do-i-add-margin-on-pintu-pro-futures">transfer</a> or canceled your existing open orders.

Why am I not able to open a new position or place a new order?

The word PERPS in the trading pair is a symbol that indicates that the pairing is a Perpetual-based contract. In other words, it is a contract that has no expiration date. Another function of the PERPS word is standardizing the naming and classification of derivative instruments in the crypto market.

Why do Trading Pairs in Futures Use the Extra Word PERPS?

Entry price refers to the price at which a trader opens long or short positions. 



Mark price is a reference price used for perpetual futures profit and loss valuation as well as risk management. The mark price is calculated from a weighted average of index prices from global crypto exchanges adjusted for funding. 



Liquidation price is the price point at which the exchange will liquidate a trader&rsquo;s position to prevent further losses. Before reaching the liquidation price, the exchange will give a warning through a margin call so that traders can close their positions manually or deposit additional funds.

What are entry price, mark price, and liquidation price?

Funding settlement is a periodic payment made between long and short positions holders based on the prevailing funding rate.



Funding settlements are made every 8-hour interval at 7:00 WIB, 15:00 WIB, and 23:00 WIB. If the funding rate is positive, traders with long positions will pay those with short positions. If the funding rate is negative, traders with short positions will pay traders with long positions.



Users will only pay or receive funding if they have a position when the settlement happens. You will not pay or receive funding if you close your position before the funding settlement.

What is Funding & Settlements?

Market close is an instruction to close a position based on the best price in the order book (real-time). Limit close is an instruction to close a position automatically when the asset reaches a specified target price.

Funding rates is the rate used to determine the funding settlement in perpetual futures contracts, given the absence of an expiration date. Funding rates ensure that the funding mechanism tether the futures price to the mark price. This alignment aims to prevent price divergence between the two markets.
