What is liquidation in futures trading?

Margin usage (MU) refers to the amount of funds or collateral used by a trader to maintain a leveraged position.



In Pintu futures, MU is represented as a percentage (%). The higher the percentage, the more margin or funds the user is using to maintain their trading position.

<li>Then, enter the amount. You can immediately open a position by pressing the buy/long button (if you believe the asset price will increase) or sell/short (if you believe the asset price will decrease).</li>



<li>Click confirm to complete the transaction.</li>



<li>If you use a market order, you will immediately open a new position, as seen in the Positions tab. Meanwhile, if you use a limit order, your position will be in the Open Order tab until the target price is reached.</li>

The Funding Rate at Pintu Futures is dynamic and depends on market conditions. The rate is influenced by the demand for a particular crypto.

When margin usage enters the danger zone, you can lower it by adding more margin or closing open orders.

What does the Usage Margin in the Danger Stage Mean?

When margin usage reaches 100%, the exchange will do a pre-check before liquidating your account. If you have open orders, the exchange will cancel all your open orders to lower your margin usage level. However, if you do not have any open orders, the exchange will liquidate your futures account by taking over all open positions as well as all the remaining margin balance.

Entry price refers to the price at which a trader opens long or short positions. 



Mark price is a reference price used for perpetual futures profit and loss valuation as well as risk management. The mark price is calculated from a weighted average of index prices from global crypto exchanges adjusted for funding.

Fill or Kill (FOK) is an instruction to sell or buy an asset completely and immediately executed, or not at all.

What is FOK (Fill or Kill)?

Immediate or Cancel (IOC) is an order to buy or sell all the assets immediately at the best available price. If there is an unfilled order, the remaining portion will be canceled.

The available order execution methods on Pintu Pro are Post Only, Good Till Cancel (GTC), Immediate or Cancel (IOC), and Fill or Kill (FOK).

What is Depth?

Unlike Market Orders, Limit Orders may not be filled immediately due to various reasons:

<li>The price you set your limit order at is too high/low and does not have a corresponding order to match</li>



<li>There are orders placed prior to your order by other users, and your order simply may not have been executed. </li>

Why is my limit order not executing?

Two types of orders are available on Pintu Pro: Limit Orders and Market Orders.

What types of orders are available on Pintu Pro?

<li>Click on your preferred market via the Homepage or Markets page or simply enter the Trade tab to begin trading on Pintu Pro </li>



<li>Select your desired trade method depending on the type of trade you wish to execute:

<li>Market Order: If you would like to place buy/sell orders for tokens at the market rate</li>



<li>Limit Order: If you would like to place buy/sell orders for tokens only at a given price. </li>
</ul>
</li>



<li>Enter the Amount you wish to trade (or you can also use the % slider at the bottom of the form) </li>



<li>Review your order details one last time before placing your orders. Remember Market Orders are filled immediately and cannot be reverted. </li>
