Massive Surge: BlackRock’s Crypto ETF Sees 366% Jump in Investor Inflows!

Jakarta, Pintu News – BlackRock, the world’s largest asset management company with $11.5 trillion in assets under management, reported a huge surge in fund flows into its portfolio of crypto fund products during the second quarter of 2025.

Blackrock Crypto ETF Fund Flows Up 366%

According to the quarterly earnings report released on July 15, 2025, fund flows into BlackRock’s iShares crypto ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds) rose sharply by 366% to $14 billion, from just $3 billion in the first quarter.

Funds into these crypto products accounted for 16.5% of BlackRock’s total ETF fund flows of $85 billion in the second quarter, a significant increase compared to a contribution of under 3% in the first quarter of 2025.

However, total fund inflows to BlackRock decreased by 19%, from $84 billion in the first quarter to $68 billion in the second quarter.

This decline, according to BlackRock, was due to a partial withdrawal of $52 billion by one institutional client who invested in lower-cost index products.

Digital Assets Still Account for 1% of Base Cost

As of June 30, digital assets generated $40 million of base fees, reflecting about 1% of BlackRock’s long-term revenue. This figure increased 18% compared to $34 million in the first quarter.

“While digital assets contribute only 1% to the cost base, their rapid growth suggests the potential for even greater revenue contribution,” BlackRock said in the report update.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink adds:

“iShares ETFs saw record inflows in the first half of the year, and technology recurring income (ACV) growth hit a new high of 16%.”

“We are attracting a new generation of investors who are increasingly globalized, through products such as digital assets and our latest fund launch in India through the Jio BlackRock joint venture.”

Strong Second Quarter Across Industries Amid Rising Prices

The surge in crypto fund flows to BlackRock in the second quarter did not come as a surprise to investors, given that many market observers have highlighted major achievements in the crypto ETF market.

In early June, BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF, the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), was named the fastest ETF to reach a certain milestone in just 341 days since its launch last year, according to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas.

Based on data from CoinShares, inflows into BlackRock crypto ETFs accounted for 42% of the total $184 billion in inflows into crypto products during the first half of 2025.

More broadly, crypto fund products showed a very positive trend in the second quarter of 2025, recording one of the longest periods of fund inflows since April.

This optimistic sentiment comes as Bitcoin (BTC) prices rose by 25% during Q2, as opposed to a 12% decline in the first quarter, according to data from CoinGecko.
