Jakarta, Pintu News – Dell Technologies raised its annual projection for its artificial intelligence (AI) server business line after recording a surge in order demand to $12.3 billion in the third quarter of 2025. With server shipments of $5.6 billion and a backlog of $18.4 billion, Dell projects it will ship $25 billion worth of AI servers by the end of this fiscal year – up from its previous projection of $20 billion.
The high demand for AI servers is not only felt by Dell. Competing companies such as Super Micro Computer and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) are also experiencing a surge in orders. Cloud service providers and large enterprises are racing to build advanced systems to train and run complex AI models.
According to various market researches, global spending on AI servers could surpass $200 billion per year by the end of the decade.
However, this competition also comes with cost consequences. Dell had to face rising memory chip prices, which left its infrastructure unit (servers and networking) profit margin at 12.4% – slightly above analyst estimates of 11.2%.

The company also revised its annual revenue projections to $111.7 billion and earnings of $9.92 per share – up from the previous projections of $107 billion and $9.55 per share.
Dell also officially appointed David Kennedy as permanent Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Previously, Kennedy served as interim CFO and led the financial strategy during the company’s restructuring. His appointment is considered important for managing long-term investments in AI infrastructure while maintaining profitability.
