The rise came after speculation that ShapeShift founder Erik Voorhees exchanged 4,619 ETH (worth $13.42 million) for 24,950 BCH from a wallet that had been dormant for nine years – news that reignited market interest.

However, Erik Voorhees has confirmed that the wallet is not his, and he does not own BCH. Nonetheless, the speculation-fueled rally is likely to continue into the weekend.
