As 40% of Altcoins Approach Their Lowest Levels, These 22 Tokens Still Show Strength!

Jakarta, Pintu News – The crypto market has continued its slide in the past six months, and so far there is no strong sign on the charts to suggest a sustained recovery. With the total market valuation down around 45% from its peak of $4.27 trillion, more and more altcoins are now trading near their historical lows.

These stressful conditions mean that the number of assets that are truly in an ideal position to benefit significantly when the market recovers is becoming increasingly limited. As a result, potential price gains are now likely to be concentrated in a smaller group of tokens.

Altcoins Approach Cycle Extremes

According to CryptoQuant’s latest report, nearly 40% of altcoins have either hit an all-time low or are now trading very close to it.

The decline was mainly triggered by broader macro pressures, including lingering inflationary concerns due to oil market dynamics as well as rising geopolitical tensions in the West Asian region.

Compared to previous cycles, the current market conditions are also a bit more severe. In the last downturn phase, around 38% of altcoins fell to or near their all-time lows before finally forming a bottom and turning upwards. The current figure is higher by 2%, indicating deeper market pressure.

At the same time, capital dilution is also increasing. The number of cryptocurrencies has now grown to around 47 million assets, with around 44 million of them concentrated in the Solana, Base, and BNB ecosystems. This surge in token supply has led to further fragmentation of liquidity, resulting in capital flows being spread thinly across an increasingly congested market.

Despite the general market weakness, certain sectors and tokens have been able to outperform in recent times. This is a signal that these assets have the potential to attract disproportionate capital flows if market conditions stabilize again.

Select Altcoins Show Resilience

Take note – The 90-day Altcoin Season Index, which measures the performance of cryptocurrencies outside of Bitcoin, has remained relatively strong despite general market weakness. In that period, there were 22 altcoins that still posted gains, making them key assets that are attracting investors’ attention.

Some of the best performances came from Hyperliquid (HYPE), MemeCore (M), Canton Network (CC), and Bittensor (TAO). These four altcoins gained 47%, 66%, 14%, and 44% respectively.

The AMBCrypto page then categorizes these assets based on performance over three months to identify the segments that have the most potential to attract capital flows.

Artemis’ year-to-date data from January to March shows that bridge tokens, AI-related assets, utilities and services, social tokens, and exchange tokens are among the categories that have been relatively most resistant to market pressures.

Signs of Accumulation Appear, but Confirmation Remains Crucial

As of March 30, the accumulation/distribution (A/D) indicator shows that widespread buying activity is beginning to take place, with trading volume reaching approximately 4.5 billion tokens.

However, this accumulation could still reflect a short-term relief phase, not a fully confirmed reversal. Moreover, the price movement is still below the descending resistance line.

A break above this level, followed by a sustained upward movement, would be confirmation that demand is strengthening. Such a turnaround has the potential to drive a broader market recovery while increasing momentum in the best-performing assets over the quarter.
