You need to complete your tax residency declaration by 31 December 2026. Users who have not completed the declaration will not be able to transact on Pintu starting 1 January 2027.

When is the deadline for completing the self-declaration of tax residency

Based on PMK 108/2025, if you refuse or do not complete the tax data declaration, Pintu will not be able to provide services, including opening a new account or processing new transactions. Completing this declaration is a mandatory requirement to continue using Pintu’s services.

“What happens if I do not complete the self-declaration of tax residency?”

Pintu will only report the tax data you provide, along with your relevant Crypto Asset information, to the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Republic of Indonesia, in accordance with the procedures set out in PMK 108/2025.

Will my self-declared tax residency information be shared with other parties?

Tax residency is determined by where you live and conduct economic activity, not your citizenship. Someone can be an Indonesian citizen but a tax resident in another country (for example, if they live and work abroad for more than 183 days in a year), or vice versa.



If you live and work in Indonesia, your tax residency is generally Indonesia.

What is the difference between tax residency and citizenship?

You need to declare:

<li>Country of tax residency — the country where you are registered as a taxpayer</li>



<li>Tax Identification Number (TIN) for your country of tax residency</li>



<li>Address matching your tax residency</li>
</ul>



If you have more than one country of tax residency, all countries must be listed.



For Indonesian citizens: Pintu will automatically fill in the TIN field with the NIK registered to your account. You don&#8217;t need to change anything, unless you are a wife who files taxes using your husband&#8217;s NPWP — in that case, please replace the TIN with your husband&#8217;s NIK and attach your Kartu Keluarga (family registration card) as a supporting document.

What information do I need to provide for the self-declaration of tax residency?

PMK 108/2025 requires Crypto Asset Service Providers (PJAK), including Pintu, to collect users&#8217; tax data and relevan Crypto Asset information. This data is reported to the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) every year. 



The goal is to ensure tax transparency and prevent cross-border tax avoidance.

Why is Pintu asking for a self-declaration of tax residency

A tax residency self-declaration (or self-certification) is a statement you fill in yourself to declare which country you are a tax resident of. Starting 1 January 2026, Pintu is required by the DJP to request this declaration from all users, as mandated by PMK 108/2025 (Minister of Finance Regulation No. 108 of 2025) on Technical Guidelines for Access to Financial Information for Tax Purposes.
