Jakarta, Pintu News – Brazilian asset manager VERT recently launched a blockchain-based platform to manage private credit operations, developed on top of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible side chains. The initiative is expected to increase transparency, speed, and efficiency in the Brazilian capital market.
The platform designed by VERT leverages the low transaction fees and compliance capabilities of XRP Ledger. With EVM side-chain integration, the platform enables more advanced smart contract functionality, which supports process automation, document monitoring and better reporting.
Each stage in the structured credit lifecycle can be handled securely and transparently. In addition, the platform also comes with off-chain redundancy in the form of an internal VERT system and records data in Brazil’s regulated financial infrastructure to meet compliance requirements.

The inaugural transaction on the exchange was the issuance of BRL 700 million (approximately $130 million) worth of Certificates of Agribusiness Acceptance (CRAs), a popular financial instrument in Brazil. These CRAs package future cash flows of agribusinesses, such as loan repayments or trade receivables, into an investment product.

This financial tool is crucial as it funds agricultural and export operations in Brazil. As such, it is vital in supporting this crucial economic sector in the country.
Gabriel Braga, Director of Digital Assets at VERT, describes the system as a platform designed to record operational events as soon as possible. This high level of tracking is a response to the growing demand for transparency, especially from foreign investors.
Braga sees tokenization as the structural foundation of contemporary capital markets and a source of innovation for emerging financial infrastructure. This demonstrates VERT’s commitment to continue to be at the forefront of innovation in the Brazilian financial ecosystem.
Ripple, which also contributed greatly to the development of the XRP Ledger, is on board with this project. Silvio Pegado, Ripple’s Management Director for Latin America, emphasized the importance of modernizing credit structures in the agribusiness segment, a key sector in the Brazilian economy.

VERT plans to scale the platform to accommodate other asset classes and structured credit operations with an estimated value of over $500 million. With a background as a CRA market leader in Brazil and having issued over BRL 86 billion in operations to date, VERT continues to lead innovation in the country’s financial ecosystem.
With the launch of this latest credit platform, VERT not only strengthens its position as an innovation leader in Brazil, but also sets new standards in transparency and efficiency of financial operations. This is a major step in the evolution of the Brazilian capital market as it increasingly adopts blockchain technology.
