3 Altcoins That Took the Hardest Hit During Uptober 2025

Jakarta, Pintu News – Although crypto traders were initially enthusiastic about the possibility of an Uptober, it didn’t happen. Instead, the month of October showed a very bearish trend, triggered by the biggest liquidation event ever on October 10.

The price recovery that followed was fairly weak and has gone back down, especially on altcoins. Most cryptocurrencies recorded negative performance throughout October, with some plummeting by almost 50%.

Let’s take a look at some of the worst-performing cryptocurrencies and analyze whether they still have a chance of reversing the trend before the end of the year, according to analysis by CCN.

IP Price Movement Breakdown

Story (IP) price has dropped significantly since hitting an all-time high of $14.96 on September 21. Initially, this decline was arrested and bounced off the $7 horizontal support area.

However, on October 10, the IP experienced a further decline and briefly touched a new low before bouncing back and forming a long lower wick.

Although the drop made the IP price fall below the $7 horizontal area, it still managed to stay above the rising long-term support trend line. As long as the price remains above this trend line, the long-term trend can still be considered bullish.

In addition, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) indicators have shown bullish divergence since October 10, indicating a potential price bounce.

If this bounce occurs, the price of IP has the opportunity to return to the $7 horizontal resistance area. However, despite the possibility of a short-term recovery, IP’s long-term price prediction cannot be considered bullish until the price actually manages to reclaim that level.

FARTCOIN price threatens to plummet

The price of Fartcoin (FARTCOIN) has been on a downward trend since it peaked at $1.69 on July 23. This decline was quite sharp and occurred without any significant price bounce.

On October 10, FARTCOIN set a new record low for the year at $0.092 before bouncing back slightly.

However, the bounce was weak, and now FARTCOIN is at risk of further decline. Currently, it is trading inside a descending triangle pattern, which is technically a bearish pattern.

In the event of a downward breakout, the price of FARTCOIN could fall to the $0.100 range or even lower to single digits (below $0.10).

The long-term outlook is also still negative, so further price declines seem difficult to avoid.

Plasma’s Short Debut

The last crypto asset to experience a sharp drop in October was Plasma (XPL), which had stolen the show with a huge price spike to $1.69 when it first launched.

However, since then, the price of XPL has continued to fall sharply without any significant correction. Like the other two cryptos, XPL briefly bounced on October 10, but has since gone back down and scored a new low.

Currently, the price of XPL is at risk of further declines below $0.20. Based on wave analysis(bearish wave count), XPL price is now in the fifth and final wave of its downward cycle (marked in red).

If this pattern plays out as predicted, the price of XPL is expected to bottom out at $0.181 before the end of the year, which will also mark the end of the five-wave decline phase.

The failed hope of “Uptober”

Overall, October fell short of the expectations of traders who wanted a bullish month, or what is often referred to as “Uptober.”

Most altcoins – including IP, FARTCOIN, and Plasma – experienced sharp declines and have yet to show convincing signs of strength.

Despite the possibility of a short-term rally as a form of recovery, the general market trend still remains bearish.
